Cycle routes from Goytre Wharf

Cycling - Goytre Wharf to Llanfoist

This route begins at Goytre Wharf. Available at Goytre is a large car park, public toilets, a café and a play park.  The route is 5 miles each way (8km) and you should allow 1.5 hours to complete the route.

To follow this route, head away from the marina and under the canal.  Turn left to join the towpath. You can then remain on this route until you come to a snaking path, between Llanfoist and Govilon.  This will take you further down onto the old railway line, the National Cycle Route 46.

This is a longer and slightly more difficult cycle ride but the ground is mainly even. It should be in the range of most cyclists, even youngsters. It is an attractive ride, skirting around scenic farmland with wonderful views of the Brecon Beacons in the distance.

If you would like a more challenging ride, it can be extended by continuing along the National Cycle Route 46 at Llanfoist.
